JoAnn is the owner of JL Tennis and director of Creekside Tennis and Swim.  She has been coaching tennis for over 30 years.  She is certified Elite Professional USPTA, Professional PTR, and USA High Performance Coach.  Her many accolades include 2014 USPTA Southern Pro of the Year, USTA prestigious Merit Award winner for her junior programs, named “one of the top 25 heroes in the game of tennis” by Tennis Industry Association, 3 time USPTA South Carolina Pro of the year, and USTA SC Community Tennis Award winner.   JoAnn also has a Masters Degree in Physical Education and Sports Science.

Bryan Minton

High Performance Coach

Originally from Louisville, KY and grew up as a highly ranked national junior player. Bryan moved to Charleston in 1990 where he played #1 singles and doubles at the Division 1 College of Charleston and won multiple MVP awards, Coaches Awards and was Team Captain both Junior and Senior years and was one of CofC's first NCAA All Conference Players. He has been coaching tennis in the Charleston area since 1992 and has had a passion for coaching high level tennis. His passion has led him to mentor under several well-renowned coaches where he mastered the art of player development. During his apprenticeship, he ran multiple programs in Charleston that have produced many of South Carolina's top players including many players that reached SC #1's and his players have collectively won 55 state qualifier titles in singles and doubles over the last 20 years. His players have also reached Southern #1's, won National Champions, have become Division 1 college players, have won multiple pro titles, as well as, players that have competed in Grand Slams. Bryan is one of the few American coaches that can say he took a player from beginner at 8 yrs. old to the pro tour at 18 yrs. old and playing in the US Open. He has extensive experience at every level of junior development and has travelled with players to many countries to compete at both the International Junior level and the Pro level.

Greg Amerson

High Performance Coach

Greg began teaching tennis to Atlanta's kids in 1994. Since then, he's taught Grace Min (top 5 in the world in her age division. Recently beat a player #155 on WTA. Won the Clay Court and the Hard Court Nationals in the same year in age group 14 and under), Andie Daniell (ranked 3 in the U.S. in the 12 and under age group, won first National in February 2009, and currently still being taught by Greg), Alex Clay (top 5 in the Southern section), Alex Haney (Scholarship to Auburn university), Kendall Woodard (top 5 in Southern section), and Jadon Phillips (won Nationals in the 12 and under age group). Teaching tennis to the younger generations is his passion. He enjoys passing on the passion and love for tennis to those who are still able to grow and further their careers. He trains kids to win U.S Opens.

Gavin Smith

Gavin comes from the I'On club where he taught all levels of adults and juniors. He played tennis at Whittier College before transferring to York College where he studied business. Gavin is excited to be back working with Greg and Bryan whom he worked with at the MWTennis Academy.

Jeff Short

Jeff grew up in Florida where he started playing tennis with
his mom at a very young age.  He then became one of the top Juniors in Florida and went on to become a four time All American at the University of  South 
Florida. He is USPTA and Next Gen certified.  Jeff's passion is helping players advance to the next level while having a great time on the court

Patrick Harrison

Originally from Lilburn, Georgia Patrick has been in Charleston South Carolina since 2006. He started coaching tennis and coordinating summer camps when he was 15 years old, and is currently PTR and Net Gen Certified. He loves teaching new adults and kids, and reintroducing people into the sport who may have played previously and want to return. Seeing these players competing, socializing, and having a good time on court brings a smile to his face.
